Register to Receive Santa's Gazette: Jingle Press Online Please register at Jingle Press Online to receive the first issue of the Santa's Gazette, the first email version of Jingle Press Online. Go to http://jinglepressonline.com and find the Create An Account link below the Log In Box on the left menu panel. By registering before May 15, you will automatically receive the premier issue in your email. Periodically, a new issue will be assembled from the articles published online. It is startling to have over 100 entries with almost 40 registered authors in such a short time. The preliminary plan called for 4 issues: February, May, August, and November. Even though we did not get a web presence until the end of February, we picked the 15th of those 4 months as appropriate breaks in the Santa year-round cycle. To get the premier issue, you must register before May 15, 2008. There are two sites that are working in tandem: Santa's Society: A Portal for Santa Connections; and Santa's Gazette: Jingle Press Online. Many Contributors to the Success of Jingle Press Online The Jingle Press Online has grown tremendously in its first 10 weeks. We owe a large debt of gratitude to the original staff of Jingle Press for the outstanding start. Under the Publisher, Gary Casey; the Editor, Bill McKee; with regular column contributions with a fabulous flair for words from: Santa Jac Grimes; Al 'Santa' Horton; Santa Lou Knezevich; and Mrs. Claus Cindylu Thomas among others. These stalwarts, with their powerful insights and words of wisdom, also re-published in Jingle Press Online. Also important contributors to the Jingle Press Online endeavor are Jeff Germann and Nick Trolli, who, on Saturday, February 23, 2008, directed that the publication be created. And a special thanks to the regular contributors on Santa Talk forum who helped shape the editorial policy with their critical comments and feedback. Rolling Continuous Publishing Will Continue As we have since the onset, all authors are welcome to publish an article for immediate access as is normal in eJournals. Periodically, an issue will be ready to send out as an email, and we will archive some articles. Based on the amount of material accumulated in just over 10 weeks, we probably won't make it to our originally planned date of August 15 before we send out another issue. Periodically we will remove front page emphasis when an article has been up for several days. (All authors should routinely click on the radio button for 'Front Page' regardless of the SECTION:CATEGORY that it is in.) Please note that all articles are visible to all visitors without registering; however you must register first to become an author. You must also register to receive the bulk email Santa's Gazette: Jingle Press Online newsletter. With the syndication of Jingle Press Online, various individuals and groups are free to create RSS feeds to keep track of the news and articles as well. National, Regional, and Local Santa Societies Should Publish It is true that the group always knows more than any single individual. We ought to be capturing and publishing the Santa Lore from our long-term, experienced Santas. We ought to be sharing tips, techniques, and insights with one another. When you stop to think about it, there are not very many of us compared to the population at large. There is so much opportunity for Santa visits of all kinds that attempting to hoard a competitive advantage is less important than growing the industry and the demand for quality Santa visits. In that light, every national, regional, local Santa societies as well as individual Santas should be using Jingle Press Online for their own publicity. Jingle Press Online is a grass-roots, independent, non-affiliated journal for the greater Santa community. It would be a shame to under-use it. And that is a personal opinion. Santa Walter Roach Publisher, Santa's Gazette: Jingle Press Online -- A mind is like a parachute; it works best when it is open. |
