Santa Walter.... Blytheville, Arkansas and The Lights of the Delta Board of Directors are proud to sponsor Santa's Summertime Retreat II. This event will raise much needed funds for the Mississippi County Foster Child Christmas Fund to provide a much brighter Christmas for children in a most difficult situation through no fault of their own. A Schedule of events is:
Friday June 12, 2009 Check in at host Hotel Blytheville Holiday Inn. Call (870)763-5800 to make reservations and make sure to tell them you are attending the Santa Conference to get the group rate of $87.95 per night +tax. This includes all room amenities, use of indoor and outdoor pool areas and free breakfast or take $5 off of Perkins regular breakfast menu. 7pm we will have a self pay meet and greet dinner at the Olympia Steak House and we will have entertainment. Saturday June 13, 2009 10am we start the day off with everyone taking the "Santa Oath" which Phil Wenz wrote and has graciously allowed us to bring to this event. 11am we have a class "Marketing Santa". Noon we have Lunch with Santa or Tea Time with Mrs. Claus. This event is $10 per person and allows the Mrs. Claus' and Santas to seperate and get to know each other. 1pm we have a class "Building Santa's Website". 2pm we have open discussion time. 3pm we have meet the press and public at the Music on Main Street Festival. Santa's will be present to mingle with the public and play carnival type games such as throwing darts at ballons, cake walks,Dunking booth etc... We will have a raffle of 2 bicycles which the Santas will give to the winners. Ther will be many photo opportunities and there is the always favorite Hayrides with Santa. Andof course there is the live music for entertainment and a supper meal will be provided for attendees by the FFA Alumni. Sunday June 14, 2009 we will start off by saying anyone wishing to attend worship services just let us know what their preference is and we will make sure to get them to a place of worship of their choice. Noon there will be a self pay farewell Luncheon at the Olympia Steak House. Door prizes will be given away here with some special prizes for the oldest, youngest and most outgoing Santas in attendance. To register for this event at no cost just send a message to

If we have enough young children attending and we have requests for it we can set up a seperate event fo them by having a Pizza Pool Party at the host hotel. We have some adults and a few FFA high School students who volunteer to watch the children for us at this event. This will be a free service if there is enough of a call for it.
Also anyone flying in for this event will land at Memphis International Airport in Memphis, Tennessee. Anyone doing so can contact me personally at (870)532-5883 or (870)623-1760 and give me the flight information and we will see to it that you get free transportation to and from the event here in Blytheville.
